Esopus magazine asked me to write and record a song about an object I own for Issue 20. This is the desert rock I wrote about in my song Teilhard. I was actually taking as much inspiration from the life and poetry of John Trudell (who I met years ago) as this pretty stone. Jay Bellerose, Jennifer Condos, Eric Gorfain and I recorded the song for the magazine. I decided to do a more filled out version, so Jon Brion added guitars, I sang more vocals and we remixed it for my new album World on Sticks(coming soon). Issue 20 also had a song written by the talented and charming Wesley Stace about his enviable jukebox. Thank you Esopus magazine for including me in #20!
